Kennedale is home to the Cowtown Speedway, which has been in operation since 1963. Called “the fastest lil’ dirt track in Texas,” Cowtown has clocked cars at over 110 mph on its’ high-banked, quarter mile clay oval track. Cowtown Speedway features six classes of racing every Saturday night, along with various other classes throughout the season, February to October. Also, on Friday nights, Cowtown features Go-Karts for children ages 5 through 15. Cowtown Speedway is just 30 miles south of the Texas Motor Speedway, which is located just north of downtown Fort Worth, Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Called “The Great American Speedway,” the Texas Motor Speedway is a state-of-the-art facility that plays host to stock car and open-wheel racing and various other major events throughout the year. Thousands of race fans visit the Texas Motor Speedway each year and beginning in 2005, it began hosting a pair of Nextel Cup Races each year.

The Kennedale/Fort Worth area is filled with a wide variety of other attractions. From cattle drives and historic attractions that explore the area’s western heritage to elegant museums and upscale shopping – the Kennedale region has it all. The Cowtown Coliseum, built in 1908, is the site of the world’s first indoor rodeo. Located in Fort Worth, the Cowtown Coliseum is host to a variety of special events throughout the year, including the Stockyards Championship Rodeo. Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show is a historical reenactment at the Coliseum that features trick roping, trick shooting, trick riding and other entertainment.

The Fort Worth Herd Cattle Drives is the only twice daily cattle drive in the world. Held between 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the Old West comes to life before your eyes as a team of cowhands drives a herd of longhorns along Exchange Avenue through the Stockyards. Every detail of this cattle drive - from the saddles to the chaps, from the hats to the boots - is authentic and historically true.

Stockyards Station is a fun-filled family vacation spot. This Western-style destination includes a Historic Walking Tour, including a trip to the Livestock Exchange Building and a “behind the scenes” look at Billy Bob’s Texas. You’ll also find a variety of restaurants, gift shops, Western clothing stores and more at the Stockyards Station.

Kennedale is near many, many other attractions, including the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, Log Cabin Village, the White Elephant Saloon, the Will Rogers Memorial Center and many fine museums that feature timeless works of art and historic artifacts. The Kennedale/Fort Worth area also has lots of child-friendly attractions, such as the Fort Worth Zoo, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags Over Texas.
